Montessori II (M2) (4 - 5 Years)

Program Overview

In M2, children begin to explode into writing and understand the decimal system.


1. Mathematics

  • Units, tens, hundreds, thousands (Golden Beads).
  • Formation of large numbers.
  • Simple addition and subtraction using manipulatives.

2. Language

  • Writing: Moveable Alphabet (constructing words).
  • Metal Insets for pencil control.
  • Reading 3-letter (CVC) words (Pink Scheme).
  • Framing small sentences using sight words

3. Cultural Subjects

  • Geography: Land and Water forms, Puzzle maps of continents.
  • Botany: Parts of a leaf, parts of a tree puzzles.

4. Sensorial

  • Refines the senses to help children classify and understand their environment
  • Ability to classify, identify and sequence objects

5. Social and Emotional Skills

  • Learning to share
  • Turn-taking
  • Following simple instructions
  • Expressing emotions appropriately

6. Arts and Crafts

  • Confidence and independence, problem solving techniques

7. Dance

  • Boosting physical health, strength, flexibility, coordination and mental skills (memory and focus)
