Montessori III (M3) (5 - 6 Years)

Program Overview

M3 is the culmination of the cycle (Kindergarten). Children are reading fluently and performing abstract operations.


1. Mathematics

  • Operations: Dynamic Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication
  • Skip counting (chains).
  • Time-telling and money
  • Large number cards
  • Linear counting 1-1000

2. Language

  • Reading: Blue and Green series (blends, phonograms), phonetic reading, puzzle words, sentence structure and introduction to cursive writing
  • Introduction to Grammar (Noun, Verb symbols).
  • Creative writing and reading comprehension.

3. Science & Culture

  • Zoology: Life cycles (Butterfly, Frog), Vertebrates vs Invertebrates.
  • Experiments: Sink vs Float, Magnetic vs Non-magnetic.
  • Geography: Land and Water forms, Puzzle maps of continents.
  • Botany: Parts of a plant
  • Days of the week, months of the year.

4. Sensorial

  • Refining senses to classify and understand the world, using materials, binomial or trinomial cubes, constructive triangles and colour tablets.

6. Arts and Crafts

  • Confidence and independence, problem solving techniques

7. Dance

  • Boosting physical health, strength, flexibility, coordination and mental skills (memory and focus)

8. Abacus

  • Cognitive and brain development
  • Math skills, memory and concentration
